In November 2016, the Measures and Support Division of the Ministry for European Affairs launched the e-Commerce Grant Scheme, an initiative aimed at small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) looking to invest in their online presence and sales channels.
How does it work?
The scheme consists of a one-time grant capped at €4,800 to cover eligible expenses relating to the development of an online shopping or booking system.
Who is eligible?
While eligibility is ultimately determined by the Measures and Support Division, the scheme is available to SMEs in Malta.
An SME is defined as;
- An organization with less than 250 employees
- An organization with a turnover under €50 million
A full set of requirements and application guidelines is available here.
Who will develop my website?
Your website can be developed by any organization approved by the Measures and Support Division. This ensures that the service provider building your website has been vetted by the government and that the individuals within the organization have a high level of competence and experience.
This all sounds great! Where do I start?
